Academic Associate Program in Northwell Health Department
The Academic Associate Program is a full-time, paid program offered by the Northwell Health’s Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, conveniently located just 30 minutes from Manhattan. This program is ideally suited for post-undergraduates who are considering a career in healthcare and seek hands-on experience in clinical research, quality improvement, and hospital administration. Cohen Children’s Medical Center’s Pediatric Emergency Department is the busiest pediatric emergency department and trauma center in the tristate area.
Academic Associates (AAs) play a vital role in our Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. They will actively participate in various projects, assisting faculty with ongoing research and collaborating with mentors to design new projects of mutual interest. Under the guidance of faculty, AAs will gain skills in performing chart reviews, administering surveys both in-person and online, and analyzing primary and secondary data. This program is designed to be a one-year commitment, with a preference for candidates who can commit to two years.
