Brandeis University offers several Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs, providing undergraduate students with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research across various scientific disciplines.

1. REU in Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC): This 10-week summer research program immerses students in MRSEC laboratories, focusing on interdisciplinary materials science research. Participants receive mentorship from faculty and engage in professional development activities.

2. REU in Cell and Molecular Visualization: This 10-week program offers students the chance to work in biology labs, focusing on cell and molecular visualization techniques. Participants receive mentorship and engage in seminars, ethics discussions, and professional development activities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or permanent resident
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the program
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (biology, chemistry, physics, materials science, bio-engineering, computer science and related fields) and continue to be enrolled in an undergraduate program the semester after the REU opportunity. Students from community colleges are strongly encouraged to apply.
