BU Summer Training as Research Scholars Program

The Summer Training as Research Scholars (STaRS) Program at Boston University is a dynamic initiative designed to promote access to graduate education for talented undergraduates, particularly those from groups traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences. The program offers participants the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research, enhance essential skills for graduate studies, and gain valuable insights into doctoral programs and careers in research.

STaRS is a 10-week, on-site summer research program that immerses scholars in biomedical research projects under the mentorship of Boston University faculty. Participants engage in research skills seminars, workshops, and presentations, culminating in the development of an independent research project. The program emphasizes preparation for successful entry into graduate or MD/PhD programs in the biomedical sciences.
