The Center for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SCReM-SURF) at the University of Notre Dame offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in full-time, faculty-mentored research over a 10-week summer period. This program focuses on projects related to stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, or cell/tissue regeneration.

Participants will conduct full-time research under the mentorship of faculty associated with the Center for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. The program includes a $6,000 stipend and $500 for supplies. International students may receive up to $7,000 to cover stipend, accommodation, and travel support. Successful applicants with demonstrated financial hardship may receive additional support.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors at the University of Notre Dame.
  • Applicants should have worked with their faculty mentors for at least one semester before the summer of research.
  • Successful applicants are expected to continue working with their Center for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine faculty mentor beyond the summer of funding.
