Collaborative Multidisciplinary Investigations Through Undergraduate Research Experiences (CEMITURE)

United States · GeorgiaUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-57651

The CEMITURE program at Georgia Southern University is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work on collaborative, multidisciplinary research projects that tackle complex real-world problems. The program encourages students to approach challenges from multiple scientific perspectives, fostering cross-disciplinary teamwork and innovative thinking.

Participants are paired with faculty mentors from various STEM disciplines, such as chemistry, biology, engineering, and environmental science. Students work on a wide range of research topics, including environmental sustainability, renewable energy, materials science, and biochemistry. The program emphasizes the importance of collaboration, exposing students to a broad array of methodologies and research techniques.

In addition to research, students participate in professional development workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities. These activities help students develop essential skills in scientific communication, research ethics, and career planning. At the conclusion of the program, students present their research findings in a symposium attended by faculty, peers, and industry professionals.

The program provides participants with a stipend, and housing and travel assistance may be available for students from outside the Statesboro area.
