The Freshwater@UW Summer Research Opportunities Program provides immersive, hands-on mentored research experiences in freshwater science. This program is part of the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin and spans multiple campuses within the University of Wisconsin System. The program aims to train, recruit, retain, and diversify the next generation of freshwater professionals by offering students a chance to work on a variety of research projects related to freshwater science, from hydrogeology to wetland ecology and beyond.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- Students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 (strong applications with lower GPAs may be considered with exceptional recommendations).
- Participants must commit full-time to the program (approximately 32-40 hours per week) and cannot be employed by the University of Wisconsin during the program
