Kavli Institute Summer Research Program

United States · CaliforniaUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-86363

The Kavli Nanoscience Institute's SURF-the-WAVE (STW) Prize Fellowships offer motivated undergraduates from non-Caltech colleges, planning PhD careers in science or engineering, the chance to conduct nanoscience-based research during a 10-week summer program at Caltech. Participants are matched with Caltech faculty mentors, engage in hands-on projects in areas like quantum engineering, photonics, and bio-/medical-engineering, and access the KNI laboratory. The program includes full stipend, housing, seminars, professional development workshops, social events, and KNI-specific activities to build skills and experience research life at Caltech.

In partnership with Caltech's WAVE Fellows program, STW fellows participate in academic and professional development focused on PhD preparation, effective communication, and career building. Diverse applicants are strongly encouraged, promoting inclusivity in STEM.
