The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at UT Austin aims to increase the number of undergraduate students, particularly those who are low-income and first-generation, earning doctoral degrees. Named after Dr. Ronald E. McNair, the program provides participants with research opportunities, faculty mentorship, GRE preparation, and workshops on graduate school literacy. Scholars define and develop original research projects and receive support in applying to graduate programs.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student at UT Austin.
- Must be either low-income and first-generation, or from a group underrepresented in graduate education.
- Must have a strong interest in pursuing a Ph.D.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
