NOAA Fisheries Undergraduate Internships
The NOAA Fisheries Undergraduate Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience in marine and fisheries science, offering opportunities to participate in research, conservation, and management projects. Interns may work alongside NOAA scientists, conducting fieldwork, collecting data, analyzing fisheries or ecosystem health, and supporting projects that aim to sustainably manage and conserve marine resources.
Research areas may include topics such as marine species biology, habitat conservation, climate change effects on marine ecosystems, fish population assessments, and ecosystem-based management. Interns may also engage in projects related to public policy, natural resource economics, and conservation law.
In addition to research experience, NOAA Fisheries internships offer professional development activities, including seminars, networking events, and mentoring. Students gain valuable skills in scientific inquiry, data analysis, and marine resource management, helping them prepare for future careers in marine science, conservation, or resource management.
