Participants in the program work closely with faculty mentors on research projects that explore the biological, behavioral, and social determinants of cancer health disparities. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing students to contribute to meaningful research that can influence public health policies and interventions aimed at reducing cancer health disparities.

In addition to hands-on research, the program includes educational seminars, workshops, and professional development opportunities designed to enhance participants' understanding of cancer health equity and prepare them for careers in health-related fields. These sessions may cover topics such as research ethics, scientific writing, and graduate school preparation. At the end of the program, students present their research findings at a symposium, gaining valuable experience in scientific communication.
