Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research (PSOMER)
The Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research (PSOMER) is an immersive, eight-week summer program designed for undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in medicine and biomedical research. Participants engage in mentored research projects under the guidance of faculty at the University of Chicago. The program includes hands-on research experience, seminars, workshops, and opportunities to present research findings
The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine is home to a variety of pathway programs that prepare and inspire talented high school and college students to pursue careers in medicine and in health-related research.
Program Outcomes
PSOMER and CAMP participants have gone on to attend medical school at institutions such as: Baylor University, Emory University, Indiana University, Loyola University, Meharry Medical College, The University of Chicago, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Miami, University of Pennsylvania, Wright State University.
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student of rising junior or senior standing or rising post-baccalaureate student
- Must submit proof of health insurance
- Preference for students from disadvantaged backgrounds or underrepresented in health sciences and medicine
