Purdue University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at Purdue University offers an immersive 11-week research experience for undergraduate students interested in advanced education and research careers. Participants collaborate with faculty and graduate student mentors on cutting-edge research projects across various disciplines.
SURF provides undergraduate students with hands-on research experience, professional development workshops, and the opportunity to present their findings at a research symposium. Participants work full-time on research activities, attend seminars, and complete assignments designed to enhance their research skills and career planning.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to undergraduate students enrolled at Purdue University, other U.S. institutions, and international institutions.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 or equivalent at the time of application.
- Must be a rising junior or senior.
- Preference is given to first-time participants; however, students may participate a second time with explicit support from their Principal Investigator (PI). Second-time participants are ineligible for housing or travel subsidies.
