The Sarnoff Fellowship funds US medical students to take a year out of medical school for intensive, mentored cardiovascular research at a US biomedical institution other than their home school. Fellows receive a ~$45,000 stipend plus allowances (up to $5,000) for travel to choose a preceptor/lab and to attend the Sarnoff Annual Scientific Meeting and AHA Scientific Sessions, along with health insurance and moving support. Prior research experience is not required.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited US medical school (2nd or 3rd-year students encouraged; 4th-years must defer graduation)
