Simons Foundation Summer Research Program
The Simons Summer Research Program (SimonsSRP) at Stony Brook University is a highly selective, national summer research program designed for academically talented and motivated high school juniors. Participants engage in hands-on research in science, math, or engineering alongside distinguished faculty mentors. Admission is extremely competitive, with less than 5% acceptance rate. Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled in junior year (11th grade) of high school at the time of application
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- At least 16 years of age by the start of the program (June 29, 2026)
- No exceptions to these requirements
- Nomination required from high school official (e.g., science research coordinator, guidance counselor); maximum 2 nominees per school
- Prior research experience not required
