Stanford Data Science Undergraduate Research Pathways (DSURP)

United States · CaliforniaUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-95792

The Stanford Data Science Undergraduate Research Pathways (DSURP) program is designed to provide undergraduate students with hands-on research experience in data science. This program is part of Stanford's broader initiative to train the next generation of data scientists by offering students the opportunity to engage in research projects that involve significant data analysis, computational methods, and interdisciplinary applications of data science.

Participants in DSURP work closely with Stanford faculty mentors and research teams on projects that span various fields, including biology, medicine, economics, social sciences, and engineering. The program emphasizes the development of technical skills in data science, including programming, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization, as well as the application of these skills to real-world research questions.

In addition to their research activities, students participate in weekly seminars and workshops that cover topics such as research methods, ethical considerations in data science, and career development. These sessions provide valuable insights into the research process and help students prepare for future academic and professional pursuits in data science and related fields.

Eligibility Requirements
