The Carolina Summer Fellowship (CSF) Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is designed to provide undergraduate students with an immersive research experience in the biomedical sciences. Program normally accepts 6-10 Carolina Summer Fellows each summer who join in Chapel Hill for the 9-week CSF program

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be a current undergraduate student (sophomore or junior) at the time of application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing research or a career in the biomedical sciences.
  • Students from underrepresented groups in the sciences, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, or those who have overcome significant educational, social, or economic barriers are encouraged to apply.
  • Must have active health insurance
