The PARAdiGM (Preparation for Graduate and Medical Education) Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is designed to provide undergraduates with a hands-on research experience in the fields of biomedical sciences and health-related research. This 10-week summer program aims to prepare students for careers in medicine and research by immersing them in cutting-edge research projects under the guidance of UAB faculty. Participants will also attend workshops, seminars, and professional development activities, culminating in a research symposium where they present their findings.

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Sophomore or junior level college undergraduate.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Students that have no local campus access to research experiences or physician-scientist role models, and students from groups underrepresented in the sciences are encouraged to apply.
