The Amgen Scholars Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a prestigious 10-week summer research initiative designed for undergraduate students interested in pursuing research careers in the health sciences. Participants engage in hands-on research projects under the mentorship of UCSF's distinguished faculty, focusing on areas such as biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, and more.

This program offers undergraduates the opportunity to conduct original research in the basic sciences with an emphasis on health-related fields. Participants work alongside graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty, receiving mentorship from leading scientists. The program includes weekly seminars, workshops on graduate school admissions, research ethics, and technical communication. Social and community-building events are also organized throughout the summer. The experience culminates in a Research Symposium where scholars present their findings through oral and poster presentations.
