FSU Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) at Florida State University (FSU) is designed to immerse first- and second-year students, as well as transfer students, in research and creative projects across various disciplines. Participants collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and industry partners, gaining hands-on experience that enhances their academic and professional development.
UROP offers students the chance to engage in research projects spanning fine arts, humanities, sciences, medicine, engineering, business, and social sciences. Participants work as research assistants, dedicating 5-10 hours per week to their projects. The program includes bi-weekly colloquia led by UROP Leaders, providing guidance on research methodologies and campus resources. Students also present their findings at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.
