The UMass Chan Medical School Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) is a ten-week, hands-on research experience designed to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in biomedical research. Participants will work on independent projects under the guidance of faculty mentors, attend seminars, and participate in professional development workshops. The program aims to inspire and prepare students for careers in biomedical research and healthcare.
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- GPA in good academic standing.
- Proof of health insurance coverage prior to acceptance to the program.
- Be from an economically disadvantaged background, as defined by the NIH
- Be a first generation college student
- Presently receiving accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act
