University of Minnesota Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program
The Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Program (LSSURP) at the University of Minnesota is designed to provide undergraduates with a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on research in the life sciences. Participants will work under the guidance of faculty mentors on cutting-edge research projects, attend seminars, and participate in professional development workshops. The program aims to prepare students for advanced studies and careers in the biological sciences.
LSSURP has given students that have been traditionally underrepresented in the life sciences the experience and training that enhances their ability to pursue a career in research. This represents a long-standing commitment to increasing the impact and quality of life science research at the University of Minnesota, which is strengthened when there is diversity in our faculty and students. Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Currently attending a 2- or 4-year institution on a full-time basis and will not be graduating by the program start date.
- Interested in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in the life sciences.
- Students with diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
