UT Southwestern Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) at UT Southwestern Medical Center is an intensive 10-week program designed for undergraduates pursuing careers in biomedical research. Participants engage in individual research projects under the mentorship of faculty members, gaining hands-on experience in modern research techniques and contributing to innovative scientific inquiries.
SURF introduces students to the planning, discipline, and teamwork involved in scientific research. Participants work on independent projects, attend weekly seminars by UT Southwestern faculty, and engage in discussions about careers in science and graduate training. The program culminates in a poster session where fellows present their research findings.
Program dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026 (10 weeks).
