UT Southwestern Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship – Stem Cell Program
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) – Stem Cell Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers undergraduate students a 10-week immersive research experience in stem cell and regenerative medicine. Participants work on individual projects under the mentorship of faculty members from the Hamon Center for Regenerative Science and Medicine (CRSM), gaining hands-on experience in modern research techniques and contributing to innovative scientific inquiries.
This program allows students to engage in independent research projects focused on tissue formation and the regeneration of damaged organs. Participants gain experience in modern research techniques and develop an understanding of the planning, discipline, and teamwork involved in scientific research. The program includes weekly seminars by UT Southwestern faculty and discussions about careers in science and graduate training.
Program dates: May 18, 2026 – July 31, 2026 (10 weeks).
Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate students enrolled in a science degree program.
- Completion of sophomore year by the program start date.
- U.S. citizens or possess an F1 visa.
- Interest in pursuing Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees.
