UTMB Neuroscience Summer Undergraduate Research Program
The Neuroscience Summer Undergraduate Research Program (NSURP) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary neuroscience research. The program aims to foster the success of women and underrepresented minorities in science, providing hands-on experience in cutting-edge biomedical research.
NSURP provides participants with the chance to work under the mentorship of faculty members, gaining skills in areas such as cell and molecular biology, translational sciences, toxicology, infectious disease research, stem cells, and tissue engineering. Students will become familiar with techniques like cell culturing, isolation of stem cells, immunoassays, animal surgery, mass spectrometry, and electrophysiology. The program includes a poster session at the end, scientific seminars, journal clubs, and assistance with graduate school preparation.

Eligibility Requirements
