The Villanova Undergraduate Research Fellows (VURF) Summer Program is designed to help undergraduate students at Villanova to engage in scholarly research projects during the summer. The program aims to foster a deeper understanding of research methodologies, enhance academic and professional development, and encourage students to pursue advanced research opportunities. VURF grantees work closely with faculty mentors on research projects across various disciplines. The 2027 VURF Program will take place from the week of May 24 through the week of July 26, 2027 (10 weeks, 35 hours/week, $4,000 stipend), with notification of outcomes by mid-April 2027.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors at Villanova University
  • Have a faculty mentor who will oversee the research project
  • Submit a detailed research proposal outlining the project, methods, timeline, and expected outcomes
  • Obtain a letter of endorsement from their faculty mentor
