Weill Cornell Medical Travelers Summer Research Fellowship

The Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program at Weill Cornell Medical College is designed to give premedical students who are underrepresented in medicine, or from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the opportunity to conduct research and gain exposure to clinical medicine. The program aims to foster a deeper understanding of the field of medicine and encourage participants to pursue careers in the medical profession.

Participants will engage in a research project under the mentorship of a Weill Cornell faculty member, attend weekly seminars, and participate in clinical shadowing experiences. The program also includes sessions on medical school admissions and preparation.

Program dates: June 15, 2026 – August 1, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior at the time of application.
  • Must be underrepresented in medicine (African-American,Hispanic/Latino, Native American) or from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Strong academic record, particularly in science courses.
    Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in medicine
