The Batemans Bay Youth Foundation (BBYF), established in 1994 and supported by a partnership between Batemans Bay Rotary, RSL, and Soldiers Club, provides grants of up to $3,500 to local students from the Batemans Bay/Eurobodalla region leaving school and starting tertiary studies (University, TAFE, or an apprenticeship/traineeship). The grant helps cover first-year costs such as accommodation, textbooks, relocation, and equipment. Students may use the grant at any recognised Australian tertiary institution, though most recipients commence study at the Australian National University, University of Canberra, University of Sydney, Macquarie University, or Monash University.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Residency: Applicants must be residents of the Batemans Bay/Eurobodalla region.
  • Recently completed secondary school (Year 12/HSC) and starting tertiary study (university, TAFE, or an apprenticeship/traineeship) the following year.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • Community Involvement: Preference may be given to students who have demonstrated involvement in their local community or who have a strong connection to the Batemans Bay region.
