Bristol PhD Scholarships for Applicants of Black and mixed Black Heritage
The Black Heritage PhD Scholarships at the University of Bristol are designed to support UK-domiciled students of Black African, Black Caribbean, or other Black or mixed Black heritage in pursuing postgraduate research degrees. These scholarships aim to address under-representation in postgraduate research.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides a stipend for living expenses, aligned with major UK Research Councils. For the 2024/25 academic year, the stipend is £19,237 annually for full-time study. The scholarship also includes allowances for research costs, paid sick leave, parental leave, and up to five weeks of paid leave each year.
Four years of full-time study; part-time study options are also available.
