The Canon Collins Trust Leigh Day LLB Scholarships at the University of Fort Hare are designed to support aspiring legal professionals who are committed to social justice and human rights in South Africa. Offered in partnership with Leigh Day, a UK-based law firm known for its commitment to human rights, these scholarships are awarded to students studying for their LLB degree at the University of Fort Hare. The scholarship provides funding for tuition and related academic expenses, and is aimed at supporting students who intend to use their legal education to champion human rights and social justice issues.

In addition to financial support, the Leigh Day Scholarship program offers a robust support network and opportunities for recipients to engage in activities that enhance their understanding and commitment to social justice. This includes internships, mentorship, and participation in workshops and events that focus on human rights law. The program not only aims to alleviate the financial burden on students but also to inspire and equip them to make meaningful contributions to society through their legal careers.
