The Cowrie Foundation Scholarship at the University of Sheffield is a prestigious award aimed at supporting Black British students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing their undergraduate studies. This initiative is part of the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation's mission to fund 100+ Black British students through UK universities over the next decade.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must identify as belonging to one of the following ethnic groups:
- Black or Black British – Caribbean
- Black or Black British – African
- Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
- Mixed – White and Black African
- Other Black background
- Must be ordinarily resident in the UK and eligible to pay home fees.
- Have a household income of £25,000 or less per year and be in receipt of the maximum student maintenance loan.
- Received an offer to study a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Sheffield.
- If successful, applicants must make the University of Sheffield their firm choice by the date specified in their offer.
