Durham Inspired Racecourse Scholarship

The Durham Inspired: Racecourse Scholarship is designed to support talented and ambitious young sportsmen and women from lower-income households who wish to combine university-level sport with further education at Durham University. While there is a particular encouragement for rugby players to apply, athletes from other sports are also eligible.

Value and Duration:

  • £5,000 per academic year.
  • Up to four years, covering the full term of the undergraduate degree.
  • One scholarship available for applicants commencing their studies in the 2024/25 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must have a household income below £42,875, as assessed by Student Finance.
  • Applicants should demonstrate exceptional potential and excellence in rugby or another sport, preferably with experience at regional or national levels.
  • Open to students applying for full-time undergraduate programs at Durham University.
