The President's International Scholarship of Excellence is awarded to exceptional international high school applicants entering their first year of a four-year undergraduate degree program at York University. Recipients, known as 'President's International Scholars,' represent diverse regions worldwide and contribute significantly to the York University community.

Value and Duration:

  • $45,000 per year, renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study, totaling up to $180,000 over four years.
  • Renewal is contingent upon maintaining good academic standing each year.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be international students requiring a Study Permit to study in Canada.
  • Have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York University beginning in Fall 2025.
  • Have applied directly from high school, within two years of graduation, with no previous university or college studies.
  • Possess an excellent academic record with a minimum 'A' average or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate leadership through community service or excellence in arts, sports, or other individual achievements.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation or other supporting documents as applicable.
  • Ensure all required documents are marked as 'Received' in the York application (MyFile) by the specified deadline.
  • Complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by the specified deadline.
