Technical University of Munich (TUM) Global Incentive Fund

GermanyPostdocProfessionalEntry ID: SC-00201

The TUM Global Incentive Fund (GIF) provides seed funding up to €10,000 per project to support TUM professors and Junior Fellows in initiating and strengthening international collaborations with selected partner institutions worldwide. It focuses on flagship partners (e.g., Imperial College London, Tsinghua University), strategic alliances (e.g., KNUST Ghana, Politecnico di Milano), and strategic initiatives (e.g., US top universities, Global South countries). The fund covers a one-year period, reimbursing actual costs for eligible activities such as preparatory meetings, virtual formats, workshops, collaborative events, and postgraduate courses. Funding aligns with TUM's internationalization and Sustainable Futures Strategy 2030, emphasizing long-term potential in research, teaching, and entrepreneurship.

For the most recent 2nd Call for Proposals 2025, the funding period runs from September 30, 2025, to September 30, 2026, with applications due by June 30, 2025, via an online portal. Eligible expenses include travel/accommodation (subsistence only for TUM staff), workshop materials (no catering), salaries for assistants, and honoraria for lectures. Reimbursements are processed post-expenditure, with final reports due by October 31, 2026. Note that central funding ends by close of 2026.
