The Tentanda Via Award at York University recognizes undergraduate students who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming significant personal barriers in pursuit of a university education, as well as changemakers committed to progressive and sustainable development issues. You must specifically select the Tentanda Via Award on the application form to be considered.

Value and Duration:

  • Domestic Awards: $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years).
  • International Awards: $120,000 ($30,000 per year for 4 years).
  • Renewable annually for three additional years, contingent upon maintaining good academic standing.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to all domestic and international undergraduate applicants.
  • Applicants must submit a personal statement (no more than 500 words) detailing how they meet the award criteria.
  • Financial need may be considered.
