University of St Andrews Global Masters Scholarship
The St Leonards Masters Scholarship supports international students pursuing one-year postgraduate taught Masters (MSc, MLitt, MRes, MPP) at the University of St Andrews. It recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and financial need, drawing on applicants' resilience from academic, professional, and life experiences. Awards are available through a single application that also considers related scholarships. Preference given to applicants normally resident in China, USA, India, countries in Africa and countries in Europe.
Awards vary by scheme: Global widening participation (full tuition + £18,000 maintenance + standard room reservation); Leadership (75% fees + up to £2,000 employability allowance); Excellence (25% fees). Employability funding available for internships, research, conferences. Sports/music scholars have specific agreements.
Outcomes notified week commencing 23 March 2026 via My Application portal. Cannot combine tuition with other fee scholarships (except Graduate Discount). Donor awards require reports and events.
Eligibility Requirements
- Overseas/International fee status (not ordinarily resident in UK)
- New students for one-year full-time Postgraduate Taught Masters (MSc, MLitt, MRes, MPP)
- Meet two or more: financial need, prior needs-funding, disadvantaged area, first-class GPA, academic excellence/leadership potential, non-academic achievements (sport, music, theatre, civic), disability, minority group
- Apply after course application submission (offer not required)
- Supporting docs: one personal reference, one academic/professional reference, transcripts; sport/music: CV/video
