Yonsei University International Scholarship
The Yonsei University Outstanding International Student Scholarships are merit-based financial aid programs designed for international graduate students at the Yonsei University Graduate School (Seoul Campus). These scholarships, categorized as types (I), (II), and (III), provide varying levels of support including full or partial waivers of entrance and tuition fees, and in some cases, monthly stipends. The Global Leader Fellowship, part of this framework, offers full tuition coverage plus a 500,000 KRW monthly stipend for outstanding new students recommended by their college or school. Scholarships are typically awarded for 4 semesters (Master’s and PhD) or 6 semesters for joint degrees/integrated programs, with continuation requiring a minimum GPA of 3.4/4.3. They aim to recognize academic excellence, language proficiency, and relevant experience, easing financial burdens for talented international scholars.
New students apply simultaneously with their admission application by submitting supporting documents online, with decisions announced alongside admission results. Current students are evaluated by their departments based on previous semester GPA. While meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee an award due to limited quotas and departmental discretion, these scholarships significantly reduce tuition costs (full, 50%, or department-supported payments).
