SwitzerlandUndergraduateGraduateEntry ID: PR-39394

The CERN Summer Student Programme offers bachelor's and master's students in physics, computing, engineering, and mathematics a unique opportunity to work with research teams at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. Participants join day-to-day experimental work, attend specialized lectures on particle physics and computing by leading scientists, visit accelerators and experimental areas, and engage in workshops, discussion sessions, and a poster session. Students complete a short report on their project at the end. The programme lasts 8 to 13 weeks in summer, fostering a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment with lasting professional networks.

It provides hands-on contributions to cutting-edge research, including advanced scientific and technical projects in particle physics, engineering, and computing. Benefits include a daily subsistence allowance of ~94 CHF, health insurance, possible travel reimbursement, accommodation assistance, and full immersion in CERN facilities. All nationalities are welcome, with special application paths for students from Canada, Japan, and the US.
