The old Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship URL 404s and the University's general international postgraduate funding pages no longer name it. The Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarship (EDCS), offered by the same School of History, Classics & Archaeology, is confirmed as the current equivalent: full tuition fees plus an annual stipend set to the UKRI level (£20,780 for 2025/2026, full-time; pro rata for part-time), awarded for three to four years.
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to all UK and international students commencing a PhD degree in the 2026-27 academic year, including distance-learning HCA PhD applicants.
- Current PhD students and MScR applicants are not eligible to apply.
- Requires a completed PhD study application submitted through the University's online system, followed by a separate EDCS scholarship application via the MyEd portal.
