ETH Zurich Summer Research Fellowship
The ETH Student Summer Research Fellowship (ETH SSRF), provided by the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, offers undergraduate and graduate students a unique opportunity to gain their first hands-on research experience in computer science or related fields. The program runs for two full months during the summer (1 July to 28 August 2026), during which participants work on a research project in one of the department's labs, aligned with areas such as Machine Learning, Visual Computing, Theory, Human-Computer Interaction, Bio/Medical Informatics, Programming Languages and Software Engineering, Computer Systems, Information Security, or Robotics. Fellows collaborate with research groups, attend social events, and explore Zurich and Switzerland, fostering both professional growth and cultural immersion.
Fully funded, the fellowship provides a stipend of CHF 4,000 for housing and living expenses, with travel and visa costs reimbursed upon receipts. Accommodation is organized in a shared student house to build community among fellows. Selection is competitive, based on academic transcripts, CV, motivation letter, and possibly interviews, prioritizing students with strong backgrounds and genuine interest in research. The program emphasizes diversity in computer science and requires full-time presence throughout July and August.
