The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at LMU Campus Großhadern houses the research group Pharmacology for Natural Sciences, which focuses on developing human retinal organoids to evaluate gene therapy approaches for treating retinitis pigmentosa.

From mid-February to early March 2024, a 2-3 month internship position (with possible extension) is available. The intern will work on validating knockout human-induced pluripotent stem cells and perform various molecular biology techniques, including genomic DNA isolation, RNA isolation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, cell culture, and immunohistological staining.This internship is suitable for students in master's and degree programs in Life Sciences fields such as Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular medicine, and Pharmacy

Eligibility Requirements

  •  Applicants must be students in Bachelor’s or Master’s programs in Life Sciences or related fields.
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques is required, and experience with cell culture and immunohistological staining is preferred.
