The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Internship Program (SIP) offers a unique opportunity for college, graduate, and professional students to engage in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research. Participants work alongside leading scientists in NIH laboratories across various campuses, including the main campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
Participants engage in full-time research projects under the mentorship of NIH investigators. The program includes professional development workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities to enhance the research experience.
Eligibility Requirements
- 18 years of age or older on June 1, 2025
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- Open to students enrolled at least half-time in an accredited college, university, graduate, or professional school. High school seniors who have been accepted into college are also eligible.
