Google Research Internship
The Google Research Internship, offered through the Student Researcher Program, provides students with the opportunity to collaborate on cutting-edge research projects across Google teams including Google DeepMind, Google Research, and Google Cloud. Participants engage in exploratory work driving scientific advancement in areas such as AI, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, algorithms, sustainability, and more, tackling real-world, large-scale problems. The program is flexible in duration (typically at least 3 months, often 12-24 weeks), work arrangement (onsite preferred in US offices, with some flexibility), and start dates (January through July), accommodating academic schedules while requiring full-time commitment during the period.
Unlike traditional internships aimed at conversion to full-time roles, this program focuses on fostering academic collaborations and research partnerships without employment conversion eligibility. Students work alongside leading researchers, contributing to innovative solutions with potential for publication and community impact. Positions are available for BS/MS and PhD students, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis through Google Careers postings for Winter/Summer 2026 opportunities. Locations are primarily in the United States, with the host matching based on project needs, student skills, and preferences.
