MaineHealth Summer Research Internship Program
The MaineHealth Summer Research Internship Program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in research projects that focus on biomedical science, public health, and clinical medicine. Students work directly with faculty members, researchers, and clinicians at MaineHealth, contributing to ongoing research studies that address critical healthcare issues. These projects may include clinical trials, patient outcomes research, translational research, and community health initiatives.
Interns are involved in a range of research activities, including data collection and analysis, conducting literature reviews, helping design experiments, and potentially interacting with patients or community members. The program provides students with practical skills in scientific research and introduces them to the broader healthcare field.
In addition to research work, students participate in professional development seminars, workshops, and networking events, providing insights into medical research, healthcare careers, and graduate or medical school preparation. At the end of the internship, students typically present their findings to faculty, peers, and members of the MaineHealth research community.
