MaineHealth Summer Student Research Program (SSRP)
The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) at the MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR) offers a 10-week, full-time research experience for undergraduate students interested in biomedical sciences. Participants engage in mentored research projects across various centers, including the Center for Molecular Medicine, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, Center for Interdisciplinary Population & Health Research, and the Center for Applied Science & Technology. SURP provides undergraduates with hands-on research experience in biomedical sciences. Students work 40 hours per week on projects aligned with their interests and participate in professional development activities. The program culminates in a presentation of research findings.
Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program.
- Full-time participation for the entire 10-week duration.
- Students are responsible for their own transportation and housing; resources are provided to assist in finding housing in the Greater Portland area.
