The MD Anderson Cancer Center Partnership Summer Research Program is designed to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on cancer research. Participants will work alongside leading scientists and researchers in state-of-the-art laboratories, gaining valuable experience and contributing to significant cancer research projects. The program aims to inspire students to pursue careers in cancer research and healthcare.

The Partnership Summer Research Program offers college and medical trainees from the University of Puerto Rico System an opportunity to explore biomedical research as it relates to cancer, to gain firsthand experiences and mentorship in basic, clinical or translational research alongside world-renowned faculty, as well as to attend targeted institutional lectures and seminars

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have DACA status.
  • Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrated interest in cancer research or a related field.
    Students from underrepresented groups in the sciences, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, or those who have overcome significant educational, social, or economic barriers are encouraged to apply.
