CPRIT CURE Summer Undergraduate Program
The Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) - CURE Summer Undergraduate Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center is a premier research initiative designed for outstanding undergraduate students aspiring to pursue academic or professional careers in cancer research. This 10-week program offers hands-on laboratory experience under the mentorship of distinguished MD Anderson faculty, providing a comprehensive introduction to multidisciplinary research and career development in the field of oncology.
Participants engage in full-time, on-campus research, working closely with faculty mentors in state-of-the-art laboratories. The program includes didactic coursework, training sessions, and opportunities to attend scientific lectures and seminars. Students are expected to present their research findings at a poster session at the program's conclusion. This immersive experience aims to develop technical skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of cancer research methodologies.

Program dates: 10‑week summer (aligned with other MD Anderson programs, i.e., June 1 – August 7, 2026).
Eligibility Requirements
- College or university students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior year by June 2025 and are in good academic standing are eligible to apply.
- Fifth year seniors returning to their undergraduate program in the fall of 2025, may also apply.
- International students may apply if they hold a current visa through the duration of the program.
- Undergraduates of all majors are invited to apply!
- A few faculty are specifically recruiting for undergraduates with backgrounds in physics, mathematics, and computer science backgrounds - applicants with these backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply and will be matched in related research areas.
