Ouseley Short-Term Research Fellowship
The Ouseley Short-Term Research Fellowship at the Warburg Institute provides financial support for scholars to conduct research on Arabic, Persian, Hindustani, and other Oriental languages. The fellowship aims to facilitate original research grounded in sources written in these languages, contributing to the vibrant intellectual life of the Institute.
This fellowship supports scholars undertaking research projects firmly grounded in Arabic and/or Persian sources. Preference is given to projects aligning with the Institute's strengths, such as art, science, philosophy, religion, and the transmission of ideas between cultures. Fellows are integrated into the Institute's community, provided workspace, and may present their work in progress.
Eligibility Requirements
- Scholars at any stage of their post-doctoral career.
- Must hold a PhD by the start of the fellowship.
- Research projects should focus on Arabic and/or Persian languages.
- Preference for projects in areas where the Institute has strengths.
- Previous recipients of Warburg funded fellowships are ineligible.
- Candidates must ensure eligibility to work in the UK for the fellowship period.
