Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in the Chemistry of Materials for Renewable Energy

United States · WisconsinUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-06999

The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in the Chemistry of Materials for Renewable Energy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is designed to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research focused on the development of materials for renewable energy applications. The program emphasizes the chemistry of materials that are critical for advancing technologies such as solar cells, batteries, fuel cells, and other sustainable energy systems.

Participants in this REU program work under the mentorship of faculty members in the Department of Chemistry and collaborate with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on active research projects. The program offers a comprehensive experience, including hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and participation in group meetings and research seminars.

In addition to research activities, the program includes professional development workshops, including topics such as scientific communication, graduate school preparation, and career paths in renewable energy and materials science. The program often concludes with a research symposium where participants present their findings to peers, faculty, and other members of the academic community.
