Summer Undergraduate Research Experience in Robotics

United States · GeorgiaUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-79182

The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) in Robotics at Georgia Tech provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers in robotics, AI, and engineering. The program focuses on developing students’ research skills through hands-on projects in a variety of robotics-related areas, such as autonomous systems, robot control, machine learning, computer vision, and human-robot interaction.

Participants are paired with faculty mentors from Georgia Tech’s Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (IRIM) and engage in interdisciplinary research projects that may involve designing and building robotic systems, developing algorithms for autonomous navigation, or creating intelligent systems capable of interacting with humans. Research areas include, but are not limited to, mobile robotics, robotic manipulation, swarm robotics, bio-inspired robotics, and medical robotics.

The program also includes professional development workshops, seminars, and networking events that help students prepare for graduate school or careers in robotics and engineering. At the end of the program, students present their research findings during a symposium attended by faculty, graduate students, and industry partners.
