University of Rochester Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

This 10-week program is designed to strengthen the science, clinical, and research skills of selected college students to enhance their competitiveness for careers in medicine and biomedical sciences. Participants conduct research in a medical center laboratory under the mentorship of faculty, engage in seminars and activities, attend weekly lectures and seminars, gross anatomy lectures and labs, clinical rotations in the Emergency Department, and participate in Problem-Based Learning sessions to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills. MCAT review/testing and mock interviews are also included

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing.
  • Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study by the start of the program.
  • U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students are eligible to apply.
  • Students from underrepresented groups in STEM, those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, or those who have overcome significant educational, social, or economic barriers are encouraged to apply.
